  1. Ignore Degraded Snapshot when backup is running

When the backup is running I don't want to see an Degraded Snapshot warning when the Hourly Health report is running.

  2. Increase Federation Transparency

Customer would like additional transparency listed directly in the federation compute marketplace, identifying things such as carbon neutral datacenter.

  3. Sort "Specify IP Address" by age of use

The assign IP address option in the OnApp user interface may offer an IP address at the top of the list which was just unassigned by another customer only 5 minutes earlier. OnApp doesn't seem to take into account if other IP addresses have never been used or if other IP addresses have been unassigned much longer.

Instead, the Specify IP Address list should be sorted in reverse by age of last use. The IP addresses that have never been used should always appear at the top of the list. If all IP addresses in the available pool have been…

  4. Clone server from backup 2+ disks

The task is that the user wants to restore the backup of the current server to a new virtual machine, and everything is fine if the user has an entire server from one disk (then the task is simple, we make the template and roll the whole server out of it ).
But what should a client do if his server consists of several disks? He can clone the system, but how to get the remaining disks from backups?
Then I take out a large "saw" and climb into the database by changing the backup target disk to the new…

  5. vApp Shutdown Options

On the page https://OnAppPortalURL.com/vapps the default shutdown option is to forcefully stop the vApp rather than use the shutdown option configured in https://OnAppPortalURL.com/vapps/vAppNumber/startup_items/edit.

To change this functionality the URL for the power off option on the /vapps page should be changed from https://OnAppPortalURL.com/vapps/vAppNumber/stop to https://OnAppPortalURL.com/vapps/vAppNumber/shutdown

  6. Safe delete resources

We regularly face one issue: users or our employees under certain circumstances delete all the resources.

    Situation 1:
user creates a server, sets the back-ups on it and everything works good. Once he decides to delete the server. All the back-up are being deleted with the server, as the user didn't read the notification that they will be deleted.

    Situation 1a:
All the above mentioned actions are made not by the user, but by a violator, who fit or stole a password, or even by an offended contractor.

    Situation 2:
An employee deletes the account. And after this all the…

  7. Improve VCD error logs

It will be helpful if OnApp can distinguish the errors originated in VCD from those generated by OnApp Control Panel itself.

Currently, both error types are displayed almost identically. Only an experienced engineer can differentiate them using the log output.

I believe displaying them as different error types in CP UI will be beneficial.

  9. Extend OnApp's firewall abilities.

OnApp provides an excellent firewall ability for VS. However, the current implementation is not applicable for outbound traffic.
Please extend firewall to use it for filtering outgoing VS traffic.

  10. Improve KVM VM firewall settings

Would like the improve the KVM firewall features:
    1. Firewall Rule Templates
It would be nice if you could create firewall rule templates and apply these templates to a virtual machine's firewall settings. This would make it easy to setup complex rule sets that will be in use for multiple servers. All you would need to do is modify the rule set and apply it to any number of virtual machines automatically. Also, updating the rule set should automatically update the firewall rules for any virtual machine to which it is applied. As part of configuring the firewall rules, it…

  11. OnappVPS WHMCS module presets & configuration options ability

The issue is that with your OnappVPS WHMCS module, we have created VPS plans with preset CPU,memory, primary disk size, CPU shares, swap disk size, port speed, and included IPs. The module supports configuration options, which is good to allow us to allow the customer to order more IPs, CPU share, Memory and port speed if they want/need it during the a new order or VM upgrade process. The issue is that the module errors out when doing this, and according to developers you told them to program it like this, so it either has to be preset and the user…

  12. Dashboard statistics option to not include federation resources

In the Onapp GUI when you subscribe to remote federation clouds, it includes all of those resources on Dashboard statistics and its hard to tell how much you have of your own local resources left/in use. So I would like option to not include federation resources or to have a drop down or something to select which compute zones you want to include in the main dashboard stats for showing.

  13. I would like to see nano built in to the Linux rescue image. It's an easier text editor than vi.

Whenever I have to boot from a rescue image, and edit a file, I first have to install nano with yum. It would be nice if it was already in the rescue image.

  14. Introduce warnings about template upgrades

A lot of customers are not doing regular template upgrades, the upgrade screen is hidden, it would be a good idea to warn about available template upgrades on the dashboard or anywhere you see fit.

  15. Integrated storage features on virtual machine overview page

It would be helpful if the virtual machine overview page had some alerts if the underlying disks were, for example, not optimised for local read path or degraded and the ability to balance/resync were possible as currently it's a fairly complicated process to find where the VM would need to be placed to re-gain its local read path and the 'migrate virtual machine' option does not always place by default to a local read path HV.

  16. Show migration type in content balance check

Under the integrated storage diagnostics, content balance checks, 'Some VirtualServers are not placed in an optimal way', users have the option to migrate VMs automatically to regain the local read path but the UI does not show which type of migration will be performed, it would be a useful feature to show HotMigrate or ColdMigrate so the user can easily see if downtime is required.

  17. Allow editing of virtual disk size without VM operating system credentials.

As an IAAS provider, we don't always have credentials within the VM, but still need to expand virtual disks for our customers. It would be nice to be able to expand the size of a virtual disk without the need to enter credentials for the VM to expand the partition.

  18. Improve Management for Basic Edge Gateways

OnApp allows managing some Basic Edge services (NAT, Firewall and VPN).

Add a possibility to manage all services (including Distributed Logical Routing) via OnApp

  19. Enforce Service add-ons

Add an ability to enforce a service add-on so that it is automatically applied to a user VS. Also add an option to select which service add-on to enforce from any VSs within a vCloud Catalog item, or from the Templates within OnApp.

  20. Speedup auto backups by using existing instances of daily backups for weekly, monthly, yearly copies.

If there is configured a daily backups schedule, successfully created daily backup can be easily turned in to copies of other longer periods. No need wasting time and resources for creating separate instances executing weekly, monthly or yearly schedules. Just use existing daily copy instead of removing it on next turn.
