  1. Virtual Server Groupping

Create and manage multiple virtual servers as a whole. This might include the following:
    - Ability to spin up more then one server during the VS creation wizard
    - Group the VS together with a custom name
    - Group by function type, for example web servers, DB servers, etc.
    - Group by application, for example Web1 + Web2 + DB1 + DB2 + LoadBalancer1 + LoadBalancer2 + Redis1 + Redis2

  4. Ability to share a disk (assign disk to multiple virtual machines)

For cluster environments we need to have the ability to share file system partitions between nodes within a cluster.

We currently work around this issue by creating a separate virtual machine which exports an iSCSI device. This device is then mounted on each node using OCFS2 on the iSCSI target.

This setup does not provide optimal performance. We would like to have the ability to create a virtual disk within OnApp which we can assign to multiple virtual machines directly.

    ---

We would use this in combination with OCFS2 or GFS2 to share data in cluster environments for large website.…

  5. Query our CDN by Name of Domains

Allow to query the controller of CDN to make Scripts to cleanup our domins when it's need, not by schedule like today.

  7. Improved stats for larger end users

We have a number of customers where we allocate them a block of resources and they create whatever VMs they want with those resources, their own cloud so to speak. That can be with resources from our HVs or dedicated HVs for the customer.

Unfortunately there are some basics missing to allow this to work nicely for customers, such as seeing how much disk space they've used from each Data Store they are assigned space on. There's just not enough visibility for lager users in to the resources they have and how they are using them.

  8. Toggle to not bill suspended VM

There should be an option to not continue billing a suspended VM while it is powered off.

Currently if you set billing for an offline resource and the VM is suspended it will continue to rack up costs even though the user is suspended.

I suggest there is an option available to zero out the rate card for suspended VMs so that when they are renewed they do not have to backpay for resources during the suspension.

  9. User should be able to distribute own templates to other Compute Zones/Regions

We have two main Compute Zones/Regions (different Datacenters/ISPs). Each zone has it own Backup Zone attached. When user builds VM within Zone 1 he's able to make backups and own templates for further deployments within Zone 1. But he's unable to create VM within Zone 2 based on template from Zone 1. Template image doesn't exist in Zone 2.

Please provide the way for User to distribute own templates between Zones (like do.co snapshots -> snapshot -> add to region) for further deployments.

  11. AutoChange Template Names when VS upgrade happens ?

we have VM's from very old templates like,
    ubuntu 10.04,12.04
    Centos 5
    debian 5,6,7
    ...

and so on, but if you login to see the VM's, most of them are upgraded inside the VM. "Do-release-upgrade" but when we would like to get the list of VM's we don't know the real running operating systems on the VM's. The worst is that we can't remove the old templates from our templates list..

Can you please update this automatically, or worst case leave us an option to change this on the CP ?

  12. NVMe over Fabrics Support with Integrated Storage

NVMe is the future of enterprise storage particularly when it comes to random Read/Write. With 830K/200K random read/write vs 90K/35K there is no comparison.
There would be huge benefits with NVMe over fabrics support in OnApp. Please add this to Integrated storage.

  14. reverse dns for virtual machines

    HI

we manage all of our reverseDNS on a dedicated cPanel server. It would be great if we could integrate that to OnAPP.

Virtual machine page should have reverseDNS icon near IP address list or on the IP address page

    users can add/remove/modify rDNS
all rDNS is to be removed on VM removal

Also this should be included in the API so the WHMCS modules can also allow customers who manage their VMs through WHMCS to be able to modify their rDNS per IP Address on their VM. 90% of our users control VMs via WHMCS so this is a…

  15. FIX CUSTOM ROLES WITH VCLOUD DIRECTOR

It used to work before 8.20 changes were implemented. Then it stopped working. Thats 2 years now with no ability to create custom roles in OnApp for vCloud Director user groups. Why do we even need to request a feature for broken functionality?

  16. vCenter Virtual Machine automatic import

Ability to import Virtual Machines from vCenter and assign to users in OnApp based on the Resource Pool or folder.
Example use case for this feature is where a vCenter managed by OnApp is used as a Disaster Recovery site with an application like Zerto. When VM are recovered/replicated into a vCenter managed by OnApp then they should be automatically imported and assigned to user based on Resource Pool, Folder etc. This will allow the DR Service Provider to use OnApp to charge for resource consumed by VM and leverage on OnApp functionality to provide access to recovered/replicated VMs.

  17. Auto-assign customer specific IPv6 pools to a customer UID

The OnApp administrator should be able to optionally select creation of IPv6 UIDs which will designate the pool that the customer can select all IPv6 addresses from for the life of their OnApp account.

So, for example, let's say OnApp is assigned an entire IPv6 pool of 1:2:3:4::/64

Then also, for example, John Smith is provided a new customer account with OnApp. At creation of the account the control panel server assigns him a random 32-bit UID of a1b2c3d4.

From that point forward, all IPv6 addresses offered to Mr Smith should be from 1:2:3:4:a1b2:c3d4::/96

There should never be a possibility…

  18. Glusterfs support for storage repository

    Hi There,

We would like to use glusterfs as our storage repository. Currently Onapp is only supporting LVM(iscsi)/Solidfire/vcenter kind of storages.

The requirements are like the following:

    * support glusterfs-client on the HV's

    * connect to the storage domains

    * supporting to create file based VM's like qcow2 or vmdk. (glisters is a NFS like location)

  19. Allow VM customization during deployment to join Active Directory domain

vCenter has customization capabilities to automatically join a Windows OS to an Active Directory domain. So, having the ability to do that in OnApp when using vCenter would be useful.

  20. Maximum resources per VM in Buckets

Allow for specifying maximum VM resources that can be provisioned to each individual VM in a billing bucket. Ie, maximum Cores per VM, maximum RAM per VM, maximum vdisk size (per data store), maximum number of vdisks per VM, max interfaces, max IPs (per net).

The current rate card limits are great for limiting overall account limits, but give no way to define limits per VM. Maybe we don't want clients provisioning 128GB per VM, even though our HVs can do it.
