  1. Make data storage algorithm selectable when creating a VMs.

Example options (which should be available via API call when not given a datastore id OR make it selectable via the web portal, it might be a default global setting):

0 – Use the storage with least available space (to tighten up)
1 – Use the storage with the most available space

  2. Allow custom template group icons

As an OnApp administrator I would like the ability to add custom icons to non-default template groups.

This would provide a more visually pleasing experience for customers.

  3. PUSH CDN resource disk usage

We need to see how much disk space PUSH CDN accounts use on an account basis. You can do this in the CDN interface.

  8. Change keyboard layout in MKS Console

In vCloud Director's console we are able to change the keyboard layout, but not in the Onapp's MKS Console.

It's really hard to type a strong password in a different keyboard layout than yours or trying to access a folder path in GNU/Linux. This makes the MKS Console unusable in most use cases.

If it's not possible to change the layout it would be useful too to forward the user's own layout.

  10. Integrated Storage on Cloudboot Backup Server

In the 6.1 release notes there is this entry.

CORE-14009 | Now you can run Integrated Storage on the backup servers.

In our tests we were unable to use integrated storage with cloudboot backup servers.

According to the documentation it seems as if this is only available on static boot backup servers: https://docs.onapp.com/agm/latest/backup-settings/backup-servers-settings/manage-backup-servers-devices

You should add support for cloudboot backup servers to be able to assign disks to integrated storage as well.

  11. Thin provision - trim for integrated storage

We miss the opportunity to do real thin provisioning towards integrated storage. As for today a disk can only grow in size and empty space is never reclaimed for the storage.

  12. ISO image for static hypervisors

We should have a downloadable ISO image that we can use to quickly install static hypervisors without having to build an OS separately and running an RPM installer.

  13. Ability to lock or suspend individual VMs

As a System Administrator I would like the ability to be able to lock a VM in a particualr power state to prevent a user from powering a VM on once it is shutoff.

Currently the only way to prevent a user from powering on a shutdown VM is to suspend the user, however, suspending a user shuts down all their VMs.

Allow to query the controller of CDN to make Scripts to cleanup our domins when it's need, not by schedule like today.

  17. Automatically place VMs on the "right" hypervisor

In a service provider environment users have no idea how many VMs are on a hypervisor or what the CPU load on the hypervisor is, how much RAM is available on the hypervisor, or any other information about the hypervisor in the OnApp UI so it's really silly that they have to pick which HV to place their VMs on. They pretty much always pick whatever one shows up in the dropdown first. OnApp should just collect metrics on the situations in the hypervisors and then auto-place the VMs based upon those metrics.

The user should have the ability to create cronjob like timed actions in OnApp. Ability to define Date/Time and associated to, but not limited to, actions such as:

    - Running Service Add-ons
    - Running Recipes

  19. AutoChange Template Names when VS upgrade happens ?

we have VM's from very old templates like,
    ubuntu 10.04,12.04
    Centos 5
    debian 5,6,7
    ...

and so on, but if you login to see the VM's, most of them are upgraded inside the VM. "Do-release-upgrade" but when we would like to get the list of VM's we don't know the real running operating systems on the VM's. The worst is that we can't remove the old templates from our templates list..

Can you please update this automatically, or worst case leave us an option to change this on the CP ?

  20. Put VMs in suspended state when a User is suspended. Do not stop VM.

We would like the VMs of suspended users not to be stopped, but instead suspended.

The reason for this is when a user runs out of credits, the user is suspended and their VM is powered off. However when they add credits, the VM stays powered off. This results in angry clients and extra support tickets to investigate and start their server again.

Please change this to make VMs be put in a suspended state when a user is suspended and have VMs unsuspended when the user adds more credits.

KVM supports this via "virsh suspend and resume"

    API Call…
