  1. Edge Server Marketplace Enrolling

When setting up a edge server it gives you the option to enroll it on the Marketplace during the configuration however it only provisions it with 1 ip by default. It would be nice if when you deploy the edge server and select that you want it on the marketplace if it would require 3 ip's during that process.

  5. NSX support for vCenter integration

Add NSX SDN Controller support for vCenter integration which should provide the ability to manage within OnApp web interface the following:

    Private Networks/vxLan
    Distributed Firewall
    Distributed Logical Router
    Virtual Router (aka Edge)

  6. Nested multi-tenancy

The ability to provide isolated set of resources to multiple customers (tenants) from a single infrastructure. Each tenant has its own admin-like access to compute, storage, and networking, and the ability to customize the look and feel.
Each tenant can further subdivide resources to sub-tenants with isolation maintained.

  7. Toggle to not bill suspended VM

There should be an option to not continue billing a suspended VM while it is powered off.

Currently if you set billing for an offline resource and the VM is suspended it will continue to rack up costs even though the user is suspended.

I suggest there is an option available to zero out the rate card for suspended VMs so that when they are renewed they do not have to backpay for resources during the suspension.

  8. File Level Backup Restore

The Linux backups are already stored uncompressed. You should provide a feature to restore specific files or directories within the backup instead of requiring a full server restore.

  9. User should be able to distribute own templates to other Compute Zones/Regions

We have two main Compute Zones/Regions (different Datacenters/ISPs). Each zone has it own Backup Zone attached. When user builds VM within Zone 1 he's able to make backups and own templates for further deployments within Zone 1. But he's unable to create VM within Zone 2 based on template from Zone 1. Template image doesn't exist in Zone 2.

Please provide the way for User to distribute own templates between Zones (like do.co snapshots -> snapshot -> add to region) for further deployments.

  10. Autoscale vCPU

Currently, there is no option to autoscale vCPUs. It would be extremely valuable to have the option to autoscale cpu depending on usage, similar to memory and disk.

  11. Improved stats for larger end users

We have a number of customers where we allocate them a block of resources and they create whatever VMs they want with those resources, their own cloud so to speak. That can be with resources from our HVs or dedicated HVs for the customer.

Unfortunately there are some basics missing to allow this to work nicely for customers, such as seeing how much disk space they've used from each Data Store they are assigned space on. There's just not enough visibility for lager users in to the resources they have and how they are using them.

  12. swap partition to local disks

would be perfect to have the option to store the Swap partition to local disks,
Like you create a VM and you give 40GB root partition 8 GB Swap partition on the beginning, would be really perfect if we can assign the local resources for the swap partition(not using the storage)
since live migration on datastore are available this should not be a big problem..

  13. Object storage

Object storage as a service. All new web apps are using object storage. Would be an easy sell to end users.

  14. nested virtualisation

is it possible that we enable nested virtualisation for The VM's.. On the hypervisor we can create that but when the VM's are created Onapp is using its own templates for VM's..
    why it is needed..
    * provisioning tests
    * testing Hypervisors

  15. Sell services from catalog

Save the virtual server configuration with the applications installed so that it could be offered to customers as a preconfigured service. This will be available through a service catalog with a one-click purchase and minimal selection requirements.

  16. Virtual Server Groupping

Create and manage multiple virtual servers as a whole. This might include the following:
    - Ability to spin up more then one server during the VS creation wizard
    - Group the VS together with a custom name
    - Group by function type, for example web servers, DB servers, etc.
    - Group by application, for example Web1 + Web2 + DB1 + DB2 + LoadBalancer1 + LoadBalancer2 + Redis1 + Redis2

  17. Breakdown billing stats by vApp

Display the billing stats breakdown by vApp or by VM by resource. This means that it is reported how many CPUs, RAM, disk size etc resources have been used in each hour by particular vApp on a resource pool.

  20. Full Backup Download

Ability to create, download and upload full VM backups for multiple reasons.

On the one hand, if a new OnApp version is released, we would like to download and keep the necessary VMs safe and then upload them again to the new version.

On the other hand, our customers could kepp their VMs safe wherever they want without the need to trust our backup systems fully.
