  1. Ability to share a disk (assign disk to multiple virtual machines)

For cluster environments we need to have the ability to share file system partitions between nodes within a cluster.

We currently work around this issue by creating a separate virtual machine which exports an iSCSI device. This device is then mounted on each node using OCFS2 on the iSCSI target.

This setup does not provide optimal performance. We would like to have the ability to create a virtual disk within OnApp which we can assign to multiple virtual machines directly.

    ---

We would use this in combination with OCFS2 or GFS2 to share data in cluster environments for large website.…

  2. Dedupe on backup servers using VDO

VDO is now supported as a production feature as of RHEL 7.5. Including it in the cloudboot images would provide native filesystem level dedupe for backup servers, which is a feature that's desperately needed. As VMs are built of a small set of templates, dedupe of the vdisks should have a huge effect on storage requirements. Can you please look at including VDO support in 6.0 LTS.

  3. KVM virsh console

Add virsh console support for templates and KVM hypervisors. This would add the ability to fix the VS if there is an error in boot config or kernel image.

  4. Keep IP assignment history

Sometimes, it is required to be able to see the particular IP address usage history, which Virtual Server and which user the IP belonged to during certain period of time

  5. XEN to KVM migration

Possibility to migrate a Virtual Server from XEN to KVM as KVM is having more features and usually showing better performance.

  6. Export Virtual Server

It will be good to have a functionality to enable users to export an image of their Virtual Servers. It would probably make most sense if it were possible to download a backup (snapshot). Probably, consider the possibility to do OVA export

  7. Advanced monitoring

Functionality to get, keep and show in real time the stats from the compute resource

    Compute resource level:

    - CPU: Total Available & Total Utilized
    - Memory: Total Available, Total Utilized, Ballooning amount

    Virtual Server level:

    - CPU: Total Utilized on the hypervisors
    - Memory: Total Utilized on the hypervisors.

Ability to select metrics and period for which to show it.
