XEN to KVM migration
Possibility to migrate a Virtual Server from XEN to KVM as KVM is having more features and usually showing better performance.
It is time consuming but not difficult to migrate from Xen to KVM. We did it for all our VMs a few years ago when it become obvious Integrated Storage on Xen was being left behind in favor of KVM.
The main issue is removal of the storage PV driver so the OS can boot off the "normal" storage interface. Under windows we used "bcdedit /set loadoptions nogplpv" to disable the PV drivers. You can install the virtio drivers once it's running on a KVM node.
I'm not sure I understand why they'd need to be created manually? If you can do it manually, then you can do it automated surely? I'm not aware of anything that the VM creation asks the user differently depending on if it's KVM or Xen.
We already created a script for disk-migration, but the problem is with the VM' properties.. you need to create them manually.
