Thank you for sharing the idea and a use case with us. We appreciate that much. I see benefits of storing vdisks as files on a remote or local filesystem.
Do you have any other requirements or recommendations besides having an option to select a disk format like qcow2, raw or vmdk?

Thanks, I see benefits and use cases of object storage now, your article is very informative. I will pass this information to our R&D team.

We have decided to allow SWAP disk slider to be movable to zero value and make this default in the VS creation Wizard. For now I would suggest creating a VS without swap via API, this method should work.

As I see there are two bits that we need to implement.
    1) Enable serial virsh console on templates (changes in grub)
    2) Enable serial virsh console on the KVM hypervisor side (changes in XML)
After this is implemented using SSH on the Compute Resource it will be possible to access the VS like “virsh console <vm-name>”

We would like to hear some feedback before we implement this.

As I understand there are two places that we need to enable nested virtualization, the compute resources configuration (proper flags and configuration) and VS XML configuration (setting the CPU mode for the VS to “host-model” or “host-passthrough”).
Is it required to have the option to manage the nested hypervisor in the VS via our Control Panel?

I see benefits of this, however we require more feedback as I see at least three ways how this can be implemented.
    1) We leave all as is, but make swap disk creation optional.
    2) Swap as a partition. This is part of a bigger feature that would allow us to manage partitions inside VSs.
    3) Swap as a file on root or any other partition. Can be made with loop files or swapspace etc.

We have incremental backups and backup plugins that reduce backup space consumption and extend functionality. In the case when only vdo and kmod-kvdo need to be added to cloudboot images then we can add this in off the upcoming releases. In other cases we would like to hear more feedback regarding the implementation and management of VDO Volumes.
